How to Make Aloo Gobi Sabji: Easy Recipe with Tips & Variations

Aloo Gobi is a popular dish in Indian cuisine that is made with Potatoes (aloo) and Cauliflower (gobi).

Here is a basic recipe for making Aloo Gobi:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped cauliflower
  • 1 cup chopped potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions:

In a Pan , heat oil over medium heat. Add cumin and mustard seeds, and let them crackle.

Add the green chilies and ginger-garlic paste, and sautΓ© for a few seconds.

Now add the potatoes and cauliflower, and stir well.

Thereafter add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.

Cover the pan and cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.

Remove the lid and cook for a few more minutes, or until the vegetables are golden brown.

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti.

Note: You can adjust the spices according to your taste. Some people also add tomatoes or peas to the recipe.
